MKB has won two nominations of World Economic Magazine Awards at once: "Best Investor Relations Bank Russia 2022" and "Most Sustainable Green Bank Russia 2022".

Being the country's largest non-state-owned public bank, MKB maintains an open and transparent dialogue with its shareholders and investors. It did a lot in 2021 to improve its disclosures and further develop its IR tools: it held the first Strategy Day, where it presented its goals and plans for the next 3 years, and made a number of events for retail investors that were attended by more than 500 people.

MKB remains the leading Russian financial sector issuer by international capital market offerings thanks to its high reputation within the international investment community, and its active IR work. In 2021, the bank managed to place successfully as many as three Eurobond issues totalling USD 1.5 bln, and to close its largest ever RUB 22.7 bln equity funding transaction.

MKB's key ESG achievements include: publication of its public sustainability strategy 2021-2023 ahead of all Russian banks, approval of key ESG performance indicators for the top management, active social and environmental agenda. The Bank was the first in Russia to publish on a voluntary basis its social and environmental report in accordance with "Equator Principles". MKB further formalised its process for managing S&E impacts in lending, as well as introduced an internal taxonomy. It set up a consulting business, and has already won a series of big ESG service mandates from its corporate customers through public tenders.

MKB's ESG initiatives were recognised in the international market: the bank became the first financial institution in Russia to raise an international syndicated loan linked to ESG KPIs.

World Economic Magazine is a US-based publication committed to promote the understanding of financial literacy and economic multi-polarity in today’s global economy and international trade in particular for its global audience. The World Economic Magazine Awards are intended for the leaders in different areas identified by analysing financial market players' performance in different countries. The 2022 award winners are listed at the magazine's official website
