Expert RA has affirmed Credit Bank of Moscow rating at ruA+, stable outlook

On June 14th, 2024, Expert RA Rating Agency affirmed its credit rating on Credit Bank of Moscow (hereinafter referred as “MKB” or “the Bank”) at “ruA+” with a “Stable” outlook.

The rating reflects Expert RA’s view, that the Bank has a moderately strong market position, moderate capital buffer, fair profitability and assets quality, adequate liquidity position and corporate governance practices.

The rating analysts highlight MKB’s significant competitive positions in the corporate lending, cash and settlement services, and fairly broad customer base of large and medium-sized borrowers from various industries, which determines its important role at the federal level.

In addition to that, the agency notes that during the period under review, the Bank restored profitability indicators to pre-crisis levels, which was facilitated by the growth of operational efficiency against the backdrop in business expansion.

The strategic priorities of MKB include moderate growth of large and medium corporate lending due to existing and new clients, reduction of the share of repo transactions in the bank's assets, as well as restrained dynamics of retail lending with a focus on payrol clients. The Bank also plans to gradually increase the capital buffer relative to the current level, which will be facilitated by restrained rates of asset growth and maintaining high profitability.
